What is PTE?
PTE stands for Pearson Test of English. It is a computer-based academic English language test designed for non-native English speakers who want to study or immigrate abroad.
The updated test session now lasts about 2 hours and 15 minutes and is divided into three main parts: Speaking & Writing (together), Reading, and Listening. There are now 22 question types, including two new Speaking tasks introduced in 2025.
PTE Academic continues to assess real-life, academic English, with excerpts from lectures, graphs, and charts. You will hear a wide range of accents, including British, American, and non-native speakers, reflecting the variety of English you will encounter in everyday life.
